New Outdoor Art
A few months ago I was asked to participate in an art project to help beautify the new campus and offices of the Homeless Alliance. More than thirty 3.5’ x 6’ corrugated steel panels were being integrated into the landscape of the campus. All the panels were given to local artist and school groups so they could be embellished to add visual interest.
My piece is mounted right at the main entrance, as you walk into the office area. I masked the center of the panel to create a cross shape, then painted, burned and poured acid on the panel to create depth and texture. The metal exposed by acid will continue to patina and change appearance as time moves forward.
All new paintings at Deep Fork (June – September)
My first solo show in 2011, with over 20 new paintings on display and for sale. For the last 2 years, my artistic focus has been on furniture, light fixtures and sculpture. This show will feature all new paintings, 2D and mixed media works. All have been created on recycled or industrial material with non-traditional paints, stains and fire (that’s right, fire).
A few pieces can be previewed below.
I hope you can make it, a lot of work went into each piece. Major thanks to Wade and Elena from the Deep Fork Group for making this show happen.
